13 Horizon Hill in the Horizon Hill neighborhood was built in 1965 as the architect's personal residence. The home is 4 Bedrooms and 2.5 Baths and is approximately 3067 square feet on two floors. The home has great lines with a floor plan that is well-balanced between being open, but with a defined sequence of flowing spaces and framed views. The exposed brick throughout gives the home nice texture and warmth. It reminds me of mid-century, midwestern buildings where I grew up in Columbus, Indiana such as the I. M. Pei designed Library I studied in grade school. The constructions were solid, square and well grounded giving you a safe feeling. Overall, the home speaks of modern architecture while retaining that nostalgic sense of home. Yes -- this one tugs at my heart a little.
14 Crowningway Drive in the Sunset Mountain neighborhood was built in 1966. It is 3 Bedrooms and 3 Baths and is approximately 2736 sqft on one level. The split plan of this homes flows naturally from the dramatic entry & step down living space that anchors the center of the home. All rooms open to a clean, modern deck with those breathtaking Asheville views we all love about Sunset Mountain. I refer to Sunset Mountain as our Hollywood Hills [another place I used to live] and no doubt this home is Hollywood swank!
115 Stuyvesant Road in Biltmore Forest was built in 1977. The home is 4 Bedrooms and 4 Baths and is approximately 3304 sqft. The L shaped home is a sophisticated blend of clean lines juxtaposed by rustic stone walls and timbers.
The layout takes advantage of the rare sunny lot in the Forest adjacent to an open park. This home recently changed hands and I'm hoping the new owners love the kitchen cabinets as much as much as myself, Kelly and Carol Brady love them.
Cheers!
