The second annual Bar Wars AVL is issuing a call to Asheville bars to compete in this year's drink contest, which will honor top cocktails and help raise money for local nonprofits. Asheville bars can go here to apply for entry. The deadline for applications is March 18. Each of the 10 Asheville bars chosen to participate will pick a local nonprofit to partner with. The bars will give their charity partner $4 from each $10 specialty Bar Wars AVL drink at the end of the competition. Starting March 23, Asheville’s top bartenders will serve up aspecially crafted cocktail for competition and for charity’s sake. Tipplers can buy drinks are judge their own favorite by voting online, which also starts March 23. A finale event featuring the top four cocktail makers will be held in April, and judges will pick a winner.
