David Simchock is a multi-dimensional photographer, fine artist, writer, professional vagabond, and wanna-be rock star all wrapped up into one. After leaving his corporate career over a decade ago to wander around the planet, he's since turned his passion for travel and for music into a flourishing career as a creative, with countless publishing credits in newspapers, magazines and websites around the world, while earning numerous prestigious awards, not the least of which has been the Independent Music Award for "Concert Photography" three years gunning in 2013, 2014 and 2015. David is a staff photographer for the LEAF organization, and is very active on the Asheville photography and art scenes. He is the founder of an on-line music magazine titled Front Row Focus (www.FrontRowFocus.com) -- a "photo-centric" publication featuring news and reviews of the Asheville / WNC music scene and beyond. In addition to his shooting, artwork and writing, David is also an active and dedicated photography instructor, conducting photography tours, workshops and private consultations throughout the year, and around the world. Originally from New Jersey, he now lives in Weaverville with his partner, Beth, their adorable doodle pup, Takoda, and seven of the happiest free-ranging chickens you'll ever meet. David and Beth are loving life in Appalachia, and are proud to be part of the Asheville vibe.
