For our ninth day of 12 Days of Grit-Mas we have orchestrated the perfect night out on the town for you, courtesy of Barley's Taproom & Pizzeria and Grail Moviehouse. You can use the giveaway all at once, or break things up for several special occasions. The Prize: $30 Giftcard at Barley's and a Night Out at the Movies (2 general admission tix, a large popcorn, 2 fountain drinks, + a Grail t-shirt) from Grail Moviehouse! This giveaway has ended! Thanks for entering! Barley's Taproom & Pizzeria (42 Biltmore Ave.) has been dishing out some of the tastiest pizzas and beer in town since it opened waaaaay back in 1994 (that's ancient for Asheville standards!). The family-friendly atmosphere is perfect for any gathering, and the 21+ bar upstairs is one of Asheville's classic hangout spots for conversation, darts, and pool. With an almost infinite number of pizza choices and 40 rotating beers on tap, there's something for everyone. It's also a great spot for live music, and there's never a cover charge.  Beer at Barley's We are kind of obsessed with Grail Moviehouse (45 S. French Broad St), nestled right on the edge of downtown and the booming South Slope. Grail is Asheville's newest independently owned movie theater, and it's made its mark in the community because of its commitment to showing great films in a wonderful atmosphere. The two theaters are outfitted with vintage seats, concessions run the gamut from popcorn and candy to local beers and snacks, and their regular programming, including two weekly screenings for the Asheville Film Society and--my personal favorite--Bad Movie Nite (every other Wednesday) is pretty much off the chain. Grail shows the movies no one else in town does, and it also gets the big blockbusters. It's an easy walk from downtown proper, but there's also plentiful free parking across the street after 5 pm.  Concessions at Grail Want to win?
