Orange Peel: Talib Kweli, RBTS, and Free the Optimus. Tickets: $30, $35. Doors at 8pm. Show at 9. US Cellular Center: Griz, G. Jones, Papadosio, Freddy Todd. Tickets: Starting at $40. 8pm. The Grey EagleTwo Asheville favorites: the fun and funky Yo Mama's Big Fat Booty Band with rockers The Broadcast. Tickets: $20 in advance/$25 day of. 9 pm. OdditoriumZin Vetro, Morbids, Fashion Bath. Doors at 8pm. Music at 9.  The BLOCK off Biltmore: ReggaeInfinity from 8-11pm. After that, The BLOCK will have a salsa-spinning DJ. $10 for the 8-11pm show, $5 after 11pm. Vegan food from Wadadli Desert Oasis. Barley's Taproom & Pizzeria: All-acoustic trio Rivers from 9 pm. Eat pizza, drink beer, play pool, slap a knee. Barley's never has a cover for the awesome musicians they bring in.  Asheville Music HallGrass is Dead. Tickets: $12, $15. Doors open at 9pm. ISISThe Honeycutters and John Stickley Trio. Tickets: $20. 8:30pm. Dress Up, Dance, etc. Buxton Hall: NYE MODern Masquerade, music from Devyn Marzuola, Mary Kelly & Alex Cartwright, and Chef Sarah Cousler. Also, photobooth with free prints. $5. Doors open at 10:15 pm. MG Road: Hip hop dance party at MG Road. Tickets: $3, but ladies free before 10. "Nightlife attire," so no pajamas here. Party starts at 10. Toy Boat Community Art SpaceToy Boat is having its 11th annual underground dance party, featuring Abu Disarray, Jason Scott Furr, Oskar Malinalli, Nina Ruffini, and Kent Scott. Tickets: $7, $10. Doors at 10pm. CalypsoThis new downtown restaurant is hosting multiple events. Here are your options: 4-course dinner and cocktail at 6:30pm with music from DJ Disc-oh Dave, and Carnivale dancers, $75. The second option is a five course, one cocktail prix-fix menu, at 9pm with a midnight champagne toast, DJ Disc-Oh and Carnivale dancers, $130. Finally, doors will be open at midnight for the price of $20, which covers one Caribbean cocktail. For Beer: Habitat Tavern and CommonsDelicious beer, champagne toast. DJ ElbowGrease drops beats from 10 pm on.  Thirsty Monk in Biltmore ParkKeg drop. Like a ball drop, but a keg. 5pm. Up Country Brewing: Funk music from SupaTight. Tickets: $5. 9:30 pm. Keep it Low-Key: Grail Moviehouse: Dress up as a Star Wars character and go see Rogue One. Or stay in your pajamas. No one will judge you. 9:45 pm showing. Tickets: $9 Malaprop's: Hit the hay early and then go check out the book sale at Malaprop's from 12pm to 5 on Jan 1st. 25% off everything...unheard of.
