Winter of Poetry

Curl up this winter in a nice warm blanket with a cup of steaming coco to listen, read or write in one of the many poetry events at the Center for Connection + Collaboration.

Featuring CCC winter Artist-in-Residence from the UK David Barratt, who will conduct a series of talks and workshops – plus local favorites on the poetry scene Jeff Davis
and Tracey Schmidt – and others, as well as some fringey poetry during Asheville Fringe Festival week. Collaborations of poetry with music and dance will occur and perhaps
some poetry slams too! There will be open community readings for Winter Solstice, New Year, Robbie Burns Night and Valentine’s Day – so bring along a poem to share.

The Center for Connection + Collaboration is a habitat for the purpose of connecting with others and investigating modes of collaboration.
It is a place where creatives of all kinds can come together to share, explore, learn, witness, experience, plan, create, discuss, develop, exchange, and more, without the confines of traditional venues.
CCC-AVL is a private residence that is being renovated and modified to create studio facilities. It is the home of interdisciplinary artist Claire Elizabeth Barratt:
“I have a passion for making connections. I thrive on the energy of cross-disciplinary collaborations and I have a heart for bringing people together. I want to offer opportunities for creative exchange, for unexpected interactions.”
