This week, Asheville embraces The Funk with shows from Earphunk and Lettuce with back to back shows at New Mountain in downtown Asheville and are a great way to jumpstart your weekend.
On Thursday night, July 24th, New Orleans Prog-Funk band Earphunk will get down and dirty on the New Mountain Theatre stage. This 5-piece ensemble is quickly trailblazing their name on the live music scene and won’t stay unknown in the jam world for long. If you are into technically inspired jams and high-energy funk, then this is the band for you.
If you aren’t familiar with Earphunk, visit their website to download their discography… for FREE! That’s right, they even have a “Phunk Bundle”.
Then on Friday night, July 25th, Northeast ambassadors of funk, Lettuce, will bring their danceable horn-forward grooves to New Mountain. For two decades, Lettuce have been carrying the torch as rulers of old school funk and creating a party atmosphere in venues from coast to coast. The band weaves comfortably between supercharged instrumental breakdowns to stick-in-your-ear vocal anthems. Asheville Horns open the show.
