Performance to support Black Mountain poet's Asheville Lyric Opera debut

Gavin Geoffrey Dillard will premiere his new opera with the Asheville Lyric Opera on May 11, 12 and 13. Here are the details of a benefit concert in support of that opening from a press release:
The White Horse Black Mountain will host a benefit concert in support of Black Mountain poet Gavin Geoffrey Dillard's new opera 4:30 p.m. on March 11. His opera, “When Adonis Calls,”  will have its Asheville premiere with the Asheville Lyric Opera on May 11, 12 and 13. Dillard’s career has been nothing if not eclectic. He’s penned songs, suites and cantatas with and for Jake Heggie, Peter Allen, Chanticleer, Disney, Anne Rice, Cantaria and numerous classical composers. He’s also written comedy material for Dolly Parton, Joan Rivers, Peggy Lee, Vincent Price and Lily Tomlin. In the company of soprano Jennifer Bryan Pederson (Mars Hill College), and baritone Matthew Queen (Brevard College and Music School), Dillard will host and narrate a program of art songs he’s written with composers Clint Borzoni, Jake Heggie, and David Francis. The concert will also feature the premiere of a new Borzoni cantata, “God, As I See Her” and selections from Dillard’s successful doggie musical “BARK!” Chelsea Henly will accompany on piano. Tickets are $20 advance/$25 door.
