This Saturday, The Social in East Asheville (1078 Tunnel Rd.) hosts a night of live music, comedy, and fun to benefit the medical costs of
Michele Scheve, beloved local comedian and co-host of the popular 103.3 (AshevilleFM) show
Slumber Party. The evening entertainment goes from 6 until 10 pm and donations, as well as a portion of proceeds from food sales, will go towards Scheve's treatment during and after a kidney and pancreas transplant. There will also be an auction.
Scheve has been a woman about town for many years. She is the producer of
Slice of Life Comedy Open Mic, and she is the social media coordinator and P&P Codirector at 103.3 AshevilleFM. She also created and published
The Asheville Disclaimer.
The upcoming event at the Social will feature some stellar entertainment, including music from Stephanie Morgan, Jesse Barry, and Matt Mittan and others, as well as comedy from Barbie Angel and more. There is no cover charge for the event, but donations are welcomed. Money raised will go towards covering Scheve's costs for travel to Emory, where she will receive her transplant, as well as lodging, extended room stay during her recovery period, medicines, and doctor bills.
Scheve has been a mover in shaker in Asheville for a long time, and this is a
wonderful opportunity to give back to someone who gives so much to our community.
