A 700 year musical lineage is in danger in Ivory Coast, West Africa. For hundreds of years musicians from around the world have traveled to the Dembele household in Abobo, Ivory Coast, to study music and drumming. When the Ivory Coast government came in and destroyed their home and music center that was all taken away. BUT, Asheville musicians have banded together and launched an Indiegogo campaign to rebuild the Dembele home and the
Djembeso Drum & Dance Education Center. We need to raise money to buy them land and to rebuild. We appreciate any amount donated, and we're also grateful for people spreading the word to friends and family; social media, emails, word of mouth, etc. See the video attached for more info on this tragedy and more info on the campaign. Strength in numbers!
