No fear, the long-awaited Grand Opening Weekend of New Mountain's Amphitheater is still bound to  to be one of the musical events in Asheville of the season. There has just been a slight change to Friday night's kick off with the Black Lips . Press release from New Mountain >
In preparation for this weekend’s Grand Opening, the management team of New Mountain AVL has made the decision to move Friday night’s Black Lips show indoors to the 450-person New Mountain Theatre. While this move may have not been the original vision when planning the weekend-long celebration, the seasoned team of industry professionals knows what makes a memorable concert experience and understands the importance of staying flexible. “We want our guests to have the best possible experience when they come out to a show at New Mountain, that means utilizing all of the resources we have at our disposal to ensure guest satisfaction. In this case, we’re moving the show inside because we have the space available and have collectively agreed that the size of the room will provide a much more intimate and enjoyable fan experience.” RJD2 (Saturday) and Snarky Puppy (Sunday) will go forward as originally planned and the outdoor Amphitheater space will still be open to the public on Friday night featuring a variety of culinary offerings from various local food trucks, assorted vendors, an outdoor bar, and a picnic table area for seating. The Grand Opening weekend will be an excellent opportunity for local Asheville residents to come see the new outdoor space and experience everything New Mountain AVL has to offer. “For all of Asheville’s die-hard Black Lips fans, we urge you to purchase your tickets in advance as we anticipate a sold out show.”
