Music Video Asheville, now in its 11th year, has issued its annual call for submissions. All submission guidelines and instructions can be found at
www.musicvideoavl.com. Key points: There's a $15 application fee, and the deadline to apply is March 15.
Last year, some 65 local musicians and filmmakers submitted their music videos for consideration. Thirty videos were selected to be shown at the screening event, set for April 25 at Diana Wortham Theatre. Tickets to the event go on sale March 1. Anyone attending is encouraged to dress up with "Asheville flair." Pre-show wine and beer will be offered and networking will take place in the theater lobby starting at 5 p.m.. The viewing and awards ceremony will go from 7:30 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Prizes for winners include a free day of studio time at Echo Mountain Recording Studios and a $500 cash prize. The awards include categories such as Crowd Favorite and Best of MVA.
