Anyone who's been to any of the Holiday Liquor and Dance Parties that have been going down each December in Asheville for 8 years knows that they are pretty epic events of merriment and debauchery. It started as a bunch of college buddies getting together to throw a party in a garage and has grown into a community-wide celebration some have called, "The Best Dance Party in Asheville."  Last year saw the gathering move to its biggest venue yet, New Mountain Asheville, and apparently it was one for the record books. It was such a success that organizers thought, why wait until Christmas time to throw down Liquor Dance Party Style? The Summer Luau Edition was born. On Saturday, July 11 prepare to celebrate and dance the night away with friends and strangers alike to one of Asheville's finest on the electronic music scene (and HLDP veteran), DJ Marley Carroll. As always, festive attire is encouraged which given the new and original themes should produce some very interesting results. Santas in Hawaiian shirts? Bikini-clad elves? It's wide open. Tickets are $12 in advance, $15 at the door, and $1 of every one sold will help support a scholarship fund to send local high school students to Summer Journalism Camp at UNC-Chapel Hill. But wait. There's more.   Organizers are super excited that DJ Marley's set will follow a Toubab Krewe Reunion Show also at New Mountain offering to double your pleasure and quite possibly the best night of your summer all under one roof. (Tickets can be bought together or separately though.)   Oh, and the first 100 people to the HLDP Summer Luau Edition are guaranteed to get lei'd.
