The Mysterious Metamorphosis of Mr. Krank To kick off their call to artists for the 2016 festival, Asheville's Fringe Fest is having a Fringe Summer Freak Out fundraising event on Tuesday, July 14 at New Mountain . The party and celebration aims at bringing Fringe artists and fans together while encouraging new participation during a multi-faceted, entertaining, and super Fringey evening. Doors open at 5pm where from then until 7:45pm there will be FREE workshops and some pop-up performances for artists, Fringe fans, and the curious. The ticketed, fundraising portion of the night starts at 8pm with a performance of The Mysterious Metamorphosis of Mr. Krank, done by local master puppeteers Madison J. Cripps and Keith Shubert. Tickets are $15 for artists (you must complete a survey and register online), $20 for general admission (includes the performances and hors d'oevres), and VIP tickets are available for $40, which also gets you "special Fringey perks" like drink tickets, special seating for the performance, a T-shirt, and a discount for the 2016 Fringe Fest taking place in January.  Click here for more information and to purchase tickets.  Organizers promise surprise Fringey stuff happening during the pre-show and that the artists will be staying for a interactive talk after the show.
