Drag Queen Bingo 2016
It's baaaack, y'all! Drag Queen Bingo benefiting Brother Wolf Animal Rescue returns for two nights this year on Friday, February 10th and Saturday, February 11th at the US Cellular Center. This event, which sells out every year, has added a night of trivia to the already sweet mix, which means that now you can have a double dose of glittered-up performance, dance routines, lip syncing, and prizes to ensure that you basically have the best weekend of your life.  Famed New York City Drag Queen Lady Bunny emcees this year's event, and with her will be an entourage of the most fabulous drag queens from the region. Lady Bunny has danced across the stage with the likes of the B-52's, Britney Spears, and Joan Rivers. She has graced the screen in Sex and the City, and she founded NYC's Wigstock, a drag and music festival.  If you want to get a little more Lady Bunny in your life (I mean, who doesn't?!), a VIP ticket this year includes a pre-show reception and private photo booth with the lady herself, plus catered food, a VIP-only bar, and the best seats in the house (right next to the runway).  Since this event is right before Valentine's Day, Brother Wolf and the Queens would love for you to make this the special occasion you and your date have been searching for. Bring romance, fun, flair, and glitter into your life with these saucy ladies, all for a great cause—the wonderful animals of Brother Wolf. One of our favorite moments last year was when a parade of Brother Wolf's adoptable dogs took their first spin down the runway, complete with costumes.  Both evenings will also include other performers, including aerialists, hoopers, stilt walkers, a photo booth, and the Blue Ridge Rollergirls. Food and drink are available for purchase at the venue.  The first night is the beloved Drag Queen Bingo, and the second night is presented by Brother Wolf and Geeks Who Drink, who will debut the first ever Trivia with the Queens. An after party, complete with drag performances and DJs, will follow the main events on both nights at O. Henry's, also a sponsor of the event. Tickets for the event, which starts at 10 p.m., are sold separately. All proceeds will go to Brother Wolf, which plans to begin work on a new 85-acre sanctuary in Buncombe County this year. Whether you bring your (human) forever friends or decide to fly solo, Brother's Wolf's Drag Queen Bingo + Trivia Night will bring a little magic into your life. Tickets are on sale now for both nights. Check back with the Grit, because we'll be giving tickets away to some lucky winners starting this weekend!  For tickets and pricing, click here.
