Blue Ridge Roller Girls
Make this Sunday a true Funday by attending the Blue Ridge Roller Girls' 2017 Season Opener. Asheville's roller derby team will be kicking butt and taking names beginning at 5 pm  (doors at 4:30) at the U.S. Cellular Center downtown. The Roller Girls will revert to their roots for the season's first match, pitting the Wham Bam Thank You Ma'ams and the Candy Apple Razor Blades, the two old-school home teams in the area, against one another for some wild fun on wheels. The family-friendly event is the place to be on Saturday, even moreso because the Roller Girls are the 2016 Women's Flat Track Derby Association Division 2 Champions, currently ranked in the #38 spot out of nearly 400 teams across the globe.  Tickets are on sale now for the first bout of the season. Adult Admission costs $13, Child Admission (ages 10-17) is $11, and the event is free for children 10 and under. $2 beer specials will be on tap, and tasty snacks will be available for purchase. Get your tickets here.  Other bout dates on the schedule are March 26th, April 30th, and May 28th. For more information about the BRRG, check out their website
