Thursday 9/22 Slice of Life Comedy Open Mic @ Pulp Lounge 8:30 pm Sign up is at the door for this open mic event at Pulp downtown. $5 entry fee; comics get in free. Drinks and compilmentary snax all night.  The Life and Music of Bernie Worrell Celebration @ Grey Eagle 8 pm Come to the River Arts District for this show, which celebrates the life and legacy of Bernie Morrell, founding member and Musical Director of Parliament/Funkadelic. Proceeds will go to covering the Worrell family's healthcare and end-of-life expenses. Friday 9/23 Fall Into Dance: An Artistic Harvest @ Pack Square Park 7:30 pm Free music and dance in the park will help the fall celebrations begin! This hour-long show features original choreography from six resident choreographers including Ann Dunn, as well as guest musicians and artists like internationally-acclaimed jazz-fusion percussionist Jeff Sipe. Performances on Saturday and Sunday. Bring a chair and a cozy blanket! ReVIEWING: The Black Mountain College Conference @ BMCM+AC and the UNCA Reuter Center All weekend long (Friday-Sunday), check out presentations, performances, workshops, and panels from leading artists in the spirit of Black Moutnain College. Registration is open now at www.blackmountaincollege.org. LYRIC @ The Bywater 9 pm Asheville sensation LYRIC (Leeda Jones) is coming to the Bywater with a full band on Friday night! Come check out the music while you chill by the river.  Saturday 9/24 Asheville Juggling Festival @ locations around town Another multi-day event that celebrates juggling at the Stephens Lee Center and Toy Boat. Catch special guest Paolo Garbanzo at this event that's (mostly) fun for the whole family! (Some shows 18+!).   ILL DOOTS Unify Tour w/ Musashi Xero @ the One Stop 9 pm This free show features live music and badass beats from Musashi Xero and ILL DOOTS, who will be bringing their freshest vibes. Check out Xero's GRIT TALK with the DOOTS gangDJ Dance Party @ Salvage Station 9 pm Before or after you hit the DOOTS, check into what Nex Millen is spinning over at the One Stop. Dance the night away until 2 am. Phantasm @ Grail Moviehouse 10 pm Don Coscarelli's 1979 horror classic has been remastered and will be screened for one night only at the Grail! $9 ticket gets you all the Angus Scrimm you've ever wanted, boy.  Sunday 9/25 Distinguished Gentleman's Ride  9 am-12 noon Come together and take a ride on your hog to raise awareness and funds for men's health--specifically prostate cancer. Create an account to register and get ready to ride!  Death Cafe @ the BLOCK off Biltmore 5-7 pm Think and talk about that most mysterious and final of life transitions. Live @ Aloft  @ Aloft Hotel 5-8 pm This Sunday's Live @ ALOFT features live music from the Free Flow Band! Proceeds go to LEAF Community Arts.  Through the Looking Glass @ Battery Park Book Exchange 11 pm - 2 am An evening filled with the delightful wonders of Lewis Carroll's classic. Dress in your best fancies and come prepared to be amazed by door mice, mysterious edibles and draughts, and music from DJ Phantom Pantone. A special menu will keep your taste buds tantalized.
