–The 11th Annual Asheville Butoh Festival at Bebe Theatre:
This is our featured event in the video. Asheville Butoh and Asheville Contemporary Dance Theater present a weekend of butoh performance and workshops

-Earth Day events
: The City of Asheville is partnering with community organizations for a weekend of events April 21-23 to mark Earth Day
. There’s a sustainability tour Friday along the newest section of the French Broad River Greenway, which starts at a new trail head at the intersection of Emma Road and Craven Street. The self- guided tour begins at 3:30 p.m. and will include stations along the way to learn more about greenways, riverfront redevelopment, complete streets and the Asheville Edibles program. A ribbon cutting ceremony for the new greenway and the Craven Street Improvements project will be held at 4:30 p.m. On Saturday, the Brother Wolf Run for the Paws 5K begins at 9 a.m. at New Belgium Brewing (21 Craven Street). Spectators are invited to cheer on the participants along the route. And then at 2 p.m. on Sunday, there’s a community celebration at the Dr. Wesley Grant Southside Center, an event that will include a walking tour of the future Town Branch Greenway, an opportunity to be a part of the 30 Trees in 30 Days tree planting, a chance to share your history of the Southside neighborhood and a visit from a fire truck.
–The Hip Abduction with Mobley at Asheville Music Hall, 8 p.m.:
Local favorite The Hip Abduction (who hail from St. Petersburg, Fla) team up with solo performer/one-man band Mobley, just named one of the top artists in this year’s SXSW Festival! The Hip Abduction is always worth seeing, and if you haven’t seen Mobley before, don’t miss this chance. If you have, you’re already planning to be there for the show.
–The Asheville Area Arts Council’s annual Creative Sector Summit
at The Collider, 10 a.m.: The event aims to “explore innovation in the arts by turning a microscope on our community.” The keynote speaker is Dan Bowers, president of ArtsBuild in Chattanooga, Tenn.
–Big Wild at the Orange Peel
, 8 p.m.: Electronic artist Big Wild just released his first EP ever on ODESZA’s label, and he’s coming to the Peel to help you dance out your week. Opening support from Tennyson and Imagined Herbal Flows.
–Asheville Gear Swap
hosted by Diamond Brand Outdoors and Liberty Bicycles, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Diamond Brand on Hendersonville Road.
–Saturday Improv Featuring Blacklist and You, Me and Them
, Habitat Brewing, 7:30 p.m.: These guys and gals make funny stuff up right in front of you.
