But the artists of Asheville are as giving as they are creative, and many of the local arts centers and galleries find ways to merge art with community service. Open Hearts Art Center

Open Hearts Art Center is a community dedicated to offering creative opportunities and expression for adults with developmental, mental, physical, and emotional disabilities. Created by three local Asheville women with a passion for art and commitment to giving back, Open Hearts offers classes, mentorship, and resources for differently-abled participants to embrace artistic expression.
