On Saturday, December 5th, The Orange Peel will see Alice not go to Wonderland, but be transported to Ashevilleland for some Holiday fun.
Local dance troupes Les Femmes Mystique and Les Filles Charme will take the audience on a journey through the twelve days and nights of Asheville Christmas in a winter wonderland filled with unexpected treats and surprises.
In this performance, Alice falls through the rabbit hole where she’s not just in a cartoon world of stoney caterpillars and toothy Cheshire cats, but instead has to navigate “Beer City” Asheville with hula hoopers, snooty foodies, dreadies, and drum circles.
Alice will also be faced with some heavy questions that so many of us here in Asheville deal with all the time like, "Do I side with locals or touists?" and "How do I find love in the hardest place on earth to date?"
Some of Asheville’s favorite performers will be on hand to navigate her way through these fateful questions and get her back home. Wherever that may be.

Guest performers include Asheville Hoops Troupe, aerialist Sadye Osterloh, Burlesque star Deb Aunare, and musicians Matt Kinne and Caleb
Beissart.
Produced and choreographed by Christine Garvin, this magical holiday journey
will definitely make the locals laugh in recognition, and offer insight into
the ‘real’ Asheville for those visiting town, all while putting everyone
in the holiday spirit. Featuring the dancers of Les Femmes Mystique, Les
Filles Charme, it’s a dance-comedy-music-cabaret-circus-arts extravaganza
that can’t be missed!
Some of the proceeds from the night will go to local nonprofit, Asheville City Schools Foundation, and the organization International Rescue Committee.
